Tuesday, July 18 (10-11:30 a.m.) – Know Your Yucca
Explore the many uses of the yucca plant! Wilderness educator Roary Kiah will teach some practical ways to use yucca, and everyone can use a yucca paintbrush to make art.
Thursday, July 20 (10-11:30 a.m.) – Games in the Grove
A little history and a lot of fun! From pioneer games to classic favorites, everyone will enjoy playing in Hiwan Heritage Park.
Tuesday, July 25 (10-11:30 a.m.) – Arts of the Southwest
Hands-on learning about sand painting, coil-style clay pots and Navajo rugs gives everyone a chance to be creative.
Thursday, July 27 (10-11:30 a.m.) – Try Dye
Plant dyes, tie dye, Kool-Aid: which will you like best? Try your hand at using traditional dyes and modern ones. Bring a few old pieces of clothing that need some color!
All Hiwan Kids days:
- Take place at Hiwan Heritage Park in Evergreen.
- Are open to children ages 5-12. Space is limited. Registration is required by calling Hiwan Museum at (720) 497-7650.
- Are FREE; donations are welcome.
- Are sponsored by the Jefferson County Historical Society.
